Adventure Camp Schnitzmühle in Viechtach

My impression cannot reflect reality. It is currently closed. A fair assessment is only possible during ongoing operations.

Nice venue and food but following some feedback of friends I guess we expected way too much. Schnitzmuehle seems busy, very busy and waiters seem overwhelmed. Anyways, we enjoyed the visit. Nice change to the usual "same, same old" in the Area.

But a bit hidden, parking spaces not ideal, but that is due to the somewhat narrow access route. Restaurant is great.

Very noisy rooms. Wellness leaves a lot to be desired ... Especially the organization ... Because of this chaos we each got a voucher for a cocktail. Front desk is very hard working and very friendly! The restaurant is okay - but if you reorder a meal - will the chef himself? VERY unfriendly served ... And the food was not brought as you ordered it. Not a difficult thing to steam vegetables but unfortunately for this kitchen ...?! Not that enthusiastic ...

Great ambience, good food and very nice waiter. The bosses have thought about it and embody a certain philosophy. That is lived and it is fun to see it and to be a guest there. The slogans that the Schnitzmühle is "different" are fitting. Different in the sense of particularly detailed and demanding.

Visited the restaurant. Food was ok, but it didn't knock us off our feet. Service unfortunately inattentive, you have the feeling as if you as a local are not as welcome as the guests at the next table. Next time it's better to go somewhere else ...

Unfortunately we were barely served. Despite our reservation, we were "parked" in a dark place. One meal was provided with an “involuntary meat insert” (fly) and thus went back (was not billed) and you couldn't get anything to drink because nobody came. It's a shame we won't be back soon.

Hipster camping. Found it on the internet and got curious. We were able to book a place directly next by the creek in advance, which enhanced our stay a bit. The place is outside the village of Viechtach deep in the valley. If you want to leave the place during your stay, either be prepared for the inclines or you are additionally motorized. Otherwise it is always worth considering leaving the place during your stay. Cool slogans everywhere and a hip website are no justification for the fact that the place looks rather unkempt. (Planting, soil quality) There is a different standard in other regions nowadays, despite sustainability, etc. The modern theme continues in the restaurant, the service was friendly and attentive on the first evening, which did not continue on the second evening, but the food was very good on both evenings.

great campsite, sanitary area is clean. Paths are not too far. For electricity you need a long cable, which has to be laid over the gravel path if you are camping on the river. The somewhat different campsite on the romantic river Schwarzer Regen. Order great fresh fish and grill it yourself. Top quality! Hiking, mushroom picking, SUP possible, sanitary facilities are good.

The place is rather neglected than natural. The sanitary facilities could be much cleaner. But if you look at the cleaning water, you know why the floor is not clean. 😉 The groundskeeper and the people at the reception / in the shop are very nice. It should be emphasized that there are a lot of fire bowls available. The location at the Schwarzen Regen is great! Mega beautiful river for refreshment on hot summer days. We avoided the bathing lake because it was totally overcrowded despite Corona. The river is more beautiful anyway 😉 A little longer opening times of the shop would be good. The bike tour to the petrol station to get beer is not that easy with a 15% incline What else comes to mind: It would be good if we made sure that people build where they have booked. We stood half on the way because our place and the one next to it were all half occupied by the neighbor, because the first in the row had not understood 🤦 On the whole, the price for this place is unfortunately too high ... 💸

Black House: Neither fish nor meat, neither hotel nor vacation home. Equipped with TV, bluetooth box, refrigerator, kettle, toilet, shower and sink, two bunk beds. Very frugal equipment. No minibar, no welcome champagne ;-) You can almost drive into the house by car. Curious and onlookers have no hesitation in standing on the terrace and gazing into the house. Underfloor heating and stove are great! 1a location !!!!! Complete self-catering would be recommended, as the service in the restaurant area is sometimes a bit more robust (e.g. rough or very detailed information on corona rules). There's a lot going on there at the weekend. It is quieter during the week and outside of the holidays. Great location for relaxing, hiking, rowing ... etc. Make your own picture. Have fun.

Had very fond memories of the carving mill from a previous visit. Price / performance ratio has in my opinion changed ... may well be related to the current Corvid situation. I very much hope the company finds its way back to earlier times in terms of food and cleanliness of the rooms.

Campsite in a beautiful location. Sanitary buildings could be cleaner. Showering turns out to be difficult because the showers go out after 10 seconds and have to be operated again. The floor is often wiped, especially in the toilets, but there are various stains on the walls. When asked to stay one night longer, we were turned away with the statement that the place was already reserved, although there were still quite a few places available on the whole campsite. We only got the train ticket (which is free) upon request. Certainly good as a family campsite, maybe a bit noisy for everyone without children. Summa sumarum, the place doesn't really keep what it promises on the Internet.

We actually wanted to stay a week because it sounded very promising. A nice place in the green, many activities and a train connection. Unfortunately we had a bit of bad luck, the train no longer runs and the space we had was also a bit unhappy. It was very small and directly adjacent to a permanent camper. The one who always left his dog off the leash and then he came over to my small children and always looked good on the square. Didn't interest the owner. He was on the square with us early in the morning and cut the hedge from the side. Thank you Also perfect was the permanent construction site in the immediate vicinity, which is extremely loud. Unfortunately, the playground for children only consists of a few outdated metal gymnastic bars and swings. You might have to renew something. A wash basin is provided for babies to bathe in, which is ok and feasible. Only a power socket right there is more than dangerous. But what you have to mention are the many easily accessible hiking trails and the super nice staff of the campsite. The pony riding advertised by the place was a letdown. We were ready 30 minutes beforehand so as not to miss anything. Then suddenly a lot of families came and children were put on horses in a wild confusion. Unfortunately it happened that all horses were occupied and I had to take my sad daughter back with me even though we were registered. The lady from the court just shrugged her shoulders in response to any questions. The crowning glory was unfortunately on the same day as we wanted to go to the hotel that belonged to it to reserve a place. My daughter was standing on the 4th of about 9 steps when a sign from the hotel suddenly flew at her, hit her head and threw it down the stairs. Nobody was interested. I asked for a Palatinate or something and was only turned away. Nobody cared that my daughter was hurt by it. Apart from liability, this is a disaster in human terms!

Unfortunately, the rooms do not correspond to the pictures on the website, the bed frame was completely painted and the floor was full of dust and crumbs. At breakfast there was very little choice. Allegedly, because of Corona, the diversity could not be guaranteed ?! In my opinion, absolute nonsense and Corona is only used here as a pure excuse. However, food in the restaurant was very tasty, a lot and well presented.

The Schnitzmühle is a real insider tip and really recommended. The food is sensational and we always like to come back.

Nice place. Clean sanitary facilities, but unfortunately with loud radio music. Great canoe tours possible, a small swimming lake - fits! Relaxed audience and hustle and bustle. It was fun! Now a proper waste separation and it's super.

Top campsite! Price-performance absolutely justified. Clean sanitary facilities, what is most important! The swimming lake and the food in the restaurant completely convinced us. We could not visit the bar, but made a cozy, inviting impression. Kickers, volleyball court and table tennis are available. The "children's play equipment" is a bit too old. We will recommend you and come again!

Nice place with direct river and pond access. First-class restaurant and a small camping shop is also on site. There is also a small bar. The showers and toilets are good. When we were there, there were an incredible number of children, which brings a lot of life to the place and of course was great for our child.

Camping site in a beautiful location, right on the Danube. Perfect for canoe trips. Dog friendly and nice staff. The only thing that is very annoying is that a loud tractor drives around the square all day collecting things. An electric car might make sense here, as is standard in other places.

Basically great place with a very good restaurant. Unfortunately, the paramedics are okay, but not as clean and in good shape as other normal places. Who advertises online with a certain hipster image, should also keep this consistent, especially since it also moves at a slightly higher price level.

A very crowded beer garden. Young and very friendly staff. Has its own request stop for the Waldbahn, the local railway service.

Wonderful place. Nice rooms, local kitchen, thai kitchen, pleasant people a staff, good beer-can only recomend. Always happy, when coming back to Adventure Camp

Nice, quiet and familiar hotel. Very friendly staff. The rooms are clean and big enough. The food is delicious. We enjoyed a very nice break in the carving mill

Very lovely worker an food.

We had a good lunch with homemade lemonade. The Camp is located very quietly. There is a lot of parking space. Some hiking walks start at the Camp.
